השיר Stan הוא הסינגל השלישי מהאלבום The Marshall Mathers LP. חוץ מקטעי הראפ שאמינם מבצע, הוא מכיל שורות מהשיר Thank You, של הזמרת הבריטית דיידו. השיר מדבר על מעריץ של אמינם בשם סטאן, שמביע את זעמו זה שהראפר לא עונה לו למכתבים. בסוף השיר המעריץ מגיע לרמה כל כך קיצונית שהוא נוסע עם האוטו שלו אל תוך נהר ובכך הורג את עצמו ואת חברתו ההריונית שהוא קשר בתא המטען.

וואי וואי וואי. שירים יכולים לרגש, להעציב – אפילו להצחיק. זה כנראה השיר היחיד שגרם לי להצטמרר.
מבין מבחר השירים אמינם שאני מכיר, זה כנראה הכי אפל שיצא לי לשמוע. וזה למה אני כל כך מאוהב בשיר הזה. הסיפור של סטאן גורם לי לקוות שאני בחיים לא אפגוש בן אדם כל כך נוראי, בטח לא כמעריץ (כשאני אהיה בסופו של דבר אישיות מפורסמת בכל העולם, שזה בלתי נמנע). ובכל זאת, השיר הזה מעביר את הסיפור ואת הדמות בצורה כל כך אמיתית שאני מתחיל לתהות אם סטאן נמצא מאחורי – אולי הרוח רפאים שלו. הפלואו של אמינם כרגיל מעולה, ואני אוהב במיוחד את הבית האחרון שבו אמינם בסוף כותב לו מכתב אחרי שהוא איחר את המועד. הייתי צריך לשמוע כמה פעמים כדי להתחבר לקטעים שדיידו שרה, אבל גם זה בסוף הרגיש לי מתאים ביחד עם כל השיר. ממליץ לשמוע לכל מי שלא אכפת לו להזדעזע ו\או לחטוף טראומה – אל תגידו שלא הזהרתי! (:
